Isaiah Jae 15 Months

Happy 15 Months Isaiah Jae!

15 Month Highlights:
-You LOVE electronics, and drumming.

-You also love crawling under tables, cabinets, anything you can get yourself into!

-Listening to Isabella play piano, while spending time with Daddy

-Little drummer boy

-And this was when your mobile came down...when you started cruising all around your crib and playing with the animals!

-Isabella loves playing piano for you. You love coming up behind her and pulling her hair!

-Auntie Debora came for a visit (with Uncle Andrew and Karly for the Fantasy Football draft weekend) which was fun! You were overwhelmed by all of the people in our house at first, but then you really warmed up to her.

-Family pizza night to celebrate Uncle G becoming a citizen

-You got a nasty stomach bug which the diarrhea lasted 9 miserable days. The first day you got it though you had fevers and were just miserable, laying around, doing a whole lotta nothing. poor baby!

-You love the ride on car, even though you still can't ride it yourself. You just love all the music it plays!

Sleeping: Bedtime is around 7 pm, you sleep til sometime in the 6 am hour, and we try to wait to get you out of bed until 7ish. Some days you make it, others, you don't.

First nap is around 10 am and you sleep anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The days you take a longer nap, you refuse nap in the afternoon. We still lay you down around 3 but you just play in bed til 4.

Eating: You hate vegetables. You love veggie straws. You also love oatmeal, cheerios, ham, burgers, toast, guacamole, PB sandwiches, and most fruits. You started feeding yourself with a spoon this month as well, although "feeding yourself" is a loose term. It mostly means you play with the spoon, and occasionally get some food item in your mouth : )

Isaiah Loves:
-Balls
-Musical toys
-Stand up musical/activity table

-Reading books
-Push toy
-Bathtime
-Playing with remote controls
-Putting things into buckets, drawers, baskets, etc and taking them back out, repeat

Isaiah 14 Months

Oh how we love this little guy! I mean, seriously, he is so much fun, and just so stinking adorable. LOVE this age!!

Happy 14 Months Isaiah Jae!

14 Month Highlights:
-We found a gluten free bakery in Alpharetta that was delicious and had a cute little patio to sit on. We had a fun saturday morning eating there, then walking to the big farmers market nearby. Despite being gone during morning nap time, you are a champ. As long as you are on the move, and have lots of food, you are good to go!
*You love when the girls play peek a boo with you!

-We had a couple of pool days this month and you just love to relax!

-You've recently taken up baby yoga. You've obviously mastered downward dog : )

-Rolling, throwing, and chasing after balls is probably your most favorite activity. Anytime you are fussy (and not hungry or tired), we give you a ball, sit on the floor with you and you are all smiles and giggles!

-For some reason, about half of the time you wake up from your afternoon nap cranky. Not sure why, you just don't love life in the moments between post-nap and dinner time.

-You LOVE LOVE LOVE music, singing, and any toy that plays a song. Isabella loves doing duets with you.

-The girls love to make you laugh at dinner time, and now you've starting trying to crack your own jokes, which makes us all laugh...including yourself!

-You love yourself a good musical toy, you don't discriminate between maracas, the piano, or any surface that can be made into drums : )

-You love the ball pit!!!

-We had a fun family day and went to a slip in slide extravaganza which was fun for sisters, but insanely hot for the rest of us! You were a trooper though and just ate most of the time : )

We poured water over your head...this was't all sweat!

-The cousin crew on a Mimi day

-Bottle break with cousin : )

-Mimi's 5...lunch time fun!!!

Sleeping: Bedtime is 7, and you sleep until sometime in the 6 o'clock hour. We give you a bottle at 7 or when you start crying, and you go back in bed to play, cat nap (rarely) or just chill until 8.

You nap at 10 am and this one can be as short as 30 minutes, up to 2 hours. Afternoon nap is around 2pm and again, can be boycotted altogether (but you still get "quiet time" in your crib!) up to an hour and a half or 2. Most days, the collective amount of naptime is about 2.5 to 3 hours. For some reason, there have been many days this month that you just refuse to nap in the afternoon. Not sure what that is about.

Eating:  You really are a great eater. Not terribly picky (although you're following in Aub's footsteps and won't touch most veggies!), and man can you throw down in volume! Favorite foods: cheerios, guacamole, veggie straws, PB and J sandwiches, avacado toast, runny eggies, blueberries, strawberries, smoothie, and yogurt.

We ended breastfeeding completely this month and it was definitely bittersweet for Mama. She definitely enjoyed those sweet cuddles in the morning time. BUT she was very excited to have her body back as hers! You transitioned from breast to early morning bottle without a hitch so that also helped. We gave you bottles first thing in the morning, once in the afternoon, and then right before bed up until the last two weeks, because we're trying to use up Mama's frozen breastmilk stash, but have since cut out all bottles but the morning one. Once the freezer milk is gone, the bottle will be also!  On that note, you will happily drink whole milk out of the bottle, but will only take a sip or so out of sippy cups. So it looks like you won't be a big milk drinker.

Isaiah Loves:
-Baths with toys

-Rolling and throwing a ball
-Anything musical
-Dancing
-Work bench toy
-Noahs ark shape sorter toy
-Putting things in and out of buckets
-Electronics, remotes, cell phones

Isaiah Hates
:
-Not getting the food on his tray that he specifically wants...and goodness, we have a hard time figuring out what he wants sometimes!

14 Month Stats:

Height: 29.5 in (approx 10th percentile)

Weight: 17 lbs (finally!) - well below growth curve still

*Wearing size 6 month summer rompers and some jammies, and 6-9 or 9 mo sleepers.

*Size 3 diapers

*No new teeth this month, still 6 total, 4 on top, 2 on bottom

Isaiah's Firsts this Month:
-Pulling to stand, right at 14 months

Isaiah 13 Months!

There has definitely been a shift in the last month from "baby" more towards "toddler." It's fun to watch this little guy move around and explore, and while it's sad to see the baby parts fading, I'm just excited for what's ahead!!

Happy 13 Months Isaiah Jae!

13 Month Highlights:
-We've tried to enjoy the nice, albeit hot weather with park days and picnics. You were not too fond of the butterfly trying to take a drink from your cup : )

-Your sisters LOVE to make you laugh, and you seriously have the sweetest, most contagious laugh ever! They will play peek-a-boo on repeat, say silly things, or just growl back when you growl at them, and you are in stitches!

-We went to a splash pad for a birthday party and you didn't love it. You were far happier sitting in your stroller watching everyone run around. In all fairness though, it was your naptime, so maybe that was part of it.

-You love to play in the playroom, and are really starting to explore more now that you are on the move! You love the Doc Mobile, and anything you can take things out of and put back in, or put together!

-Your big sister is starting to enjoy you more, probably b/c you interact with her more : ) Sweet big sister!

-Getting you up from naps or in the morning is one of the BEST parts of the day! You are so smiley and happy. And there is never a shortage of hands reaching into the crib after nap times! Those sisters love to see that big smile as well!

-We had cousin blueberry picking day and it was so much better this year vs last, partly b/c you were a month old last year, and Mama wore you in the boba wrap (hello sweaty craziness!!), and partly because there were a lot more berries to pick easily. This year, you sat in the stroller and ate your weight in blueberries and veggie straws while listening to music. Mama picked 2 3/4 lbs, and Tia got 3 lbs in about an hour of picking.

-We celebrated 4th of July this year with a cook out at the Leflers, and fireworks in the cul-de-sac. You slept right through all the fireworks, despite them being right outside your window! Rock star!

--You love putting on Daddy's hat. Aubrey likes to turn it into a game of peek a boo with you! What a handsome little guy : )

Sleeping: We've been trying to push bedtime closer to 7pm when sisters go to bed. Some nights we make it, other's you are just done at 6:15 or 6:30. Regardless of when you go to bed, you wake up anytime in the 6 am hour most mornings, with the occasional 5 or 5:30am, and the even more rare (like once or twice a month) 7am.

You go down for your first nap around 9:45 or 10 am, and sleep for an hour and a half to 2.5 hours. You then go back down about 2.5 or 3 hours after you woke up, and sleep none at all (ugh, why the nap regression!?) to another 1.5 hours. Many, many days this month you just boycotted the second nap altogether.

Eating: We weaned off all breastfeeding sessions this month except the first early morning feed of the day. Mama still enjoys this time with you, and it's just so much easier than going and heating up some milk or oatmeal that early in the morning! We had nearly gotten out of using bottles all together, but you refused to drink Mama's milk (freezer stash) in a sippy cup, and since Mama worked so hard for that, we gave you back the bottle to drink it up. Some days you drink a total of 2 oz, other days up to 8. So while you don't take a ton of volume, at least you are drinking up the good milkies!! And thankfully, in the last few days you did start to drink a bit of milk from the sippy cup with meals, so we'll take it.

In regards to eating, wow, you can throw down! Favorite foods include: runny eggies, GF toast, strawberries, blueberries, oatmeal, PB &J sandwiches, peaches, cheerios, num nums, and anything that is on big sister's plates!!

Isaiah Loves:
-Taking baths

-Eating, a lot!
-Throwing, rolling, playing with balls
-Shape sorter toy
-Anything musical
-Dancing (he really gets down way more than the girls ever did!!)
-Swinging at the park
-Cell phones, remote controls, electronics!
-"Flying" in the air

Isaiah Hates:

-Things on his feet
-Not getting to eat what someone else has

13 Month Stats:
Height: 29 in (10th percentile)

Weight: 17 lbs 3 oz (just under the growth curve)

*6 teeth, 4 on top, 2 on bottom

*Wearing size 3 diapers

*Wearing size 6 mo clothes mostly, but transitioning to 9 mo sleepers b/c he's getting a bit long

Isaiah's Firsts this Month:
-Crawling!!! Finally, like a champ! We have a baby on the move now!
