Aubrey 25 Months

I knew when she turned two, she was two going on 12, but this month has made that even more apparent!  Her vocabulary and actions are definitely beyond the average, and I'm not just saying that b/c she's mine. Even my sister said yesterday, "Wow, Aubrey is so much farther ahead at this age than Bella or DL was!" And our pediatrician said so at her 2 year check up. So it's true : )
Which all boils down to we need to hold our hats with this one, because she is going to take us on a wild and crazy ride. That's just how she rolls.

Happy 25 Months Aubrey Lynn!

25 Month Highlights:
-We celebrated Aubrey turning 2 the weekend after her actual birthday. We had a Bonfire Birthday bash with family and two other families which was just perfect. We had hot dogs and a chili bar, and of course smores. The girls all loved running around with glow sticks, and the adults enjoyed sitting by the bonfire and chatting.

-You are Mama's little errand buddy which is super fun, when Isabella goes to school. You love going to the thrift store with me because you get to look at all sorts of new books and toys, and it came in handy around Christmastime because you found a few gems that I let you play around with in the store, purchased, and hid in the back of the van until Christmas time, and you forgot all about it!

-We had an EPIC snow day on 12/8 and it turned our new country home into a total winter wonderland! It was SO much fun waking you up in the morning with all of the fluffy snow swirling in the air, and over the course of the day, everything was blanketed in white.  We went outside in the afternoon to play with our nextdoor besties, and built a snowman, went "tubing" (thanks to summer pool floats), and just loved being in the snow! It was a day I will never forget!

-You are a little ham and certainly love to make us laugh! You love to make silly faces and silly sounds, which yes, just make us laugh!

This was literally in a 2 second span and you were just throwing out as many faces as you could!

-We did a ton of Christmas celebrating this month which was a blast. We went to Lights Of Hope which all the girls loved because you got to run around a mile of christmas lights and just be free.

"Smile pretty" .... this face, every single time!

-We also went to a Christmas parade which was unlike anything we had ever been to before! We definitely realized we had moved to the country and were cracking up at some of the monster truck floats! Either way, it was fun, much bigger than we expected, and we caught a ton of candy and goodies!

No, you weren't freezing, your lips were blue from a sucker you had!

-On Christmas break, we enjoyed having Daddy home for 4 days, and then again the next weekend we had 5 days off together! We enjoyed lots of chill time, daily breakfast (of a fig bar) in bed while watching a show, family movie night, pizza making, getting some house projects done, sitting in front of the fire, playing in the tunnels, and took a trip to the mall to run off some energy after being inside for several very cold days in a row, which involved a carousel ride you loved!

Morning snuggles and tickles on our bed!

-On Christmas eve, we enjoyed making homemade pizza, and spending time with the entire family. We lit a fire and stayed cozy in our jammies.  We stuck to tradition, and had Pops read Twas the Night Before Christmas, right before you all went to bed.

-Christmas day was so much fun, and was even relaxing (for the adults!) which we haven't really felt since before Bella was born!  We woke up on Christmas morning, had breakfast in bed while watching a show, so that Mama and Daddy could drink their coffee, and then went downstairs to open up family presents.  Your highlights were a new baby doll (that you aptly named "Baby") with a stroller, a Lady bug plush projector, and a set of electronic reader books.  The three of you played so well most of the day, and all three took long enough naps that the adults got to play a hilarious game of Gestures and eat an amazing meal of prime rib, loaded baked potatoes, homemade rolls, and Yorkshire pudding. In the evening, we watched a movie, while you all played with your toys in the playroom. Lovely Christmas!

Sleeping: Bedtime is still aroun 7:30 or 7:45 assuming we go up around 7 or shortly after. You sleep about 12 hours, and then play quietly (most mornings) until your clock "wakes up" and we come get you around 8 am. Some mornings you are done by 7:45, and that's fine too.

You nap from 1:30 til about 2:30 or 3 most days, and there has been the occasional nap in the car lasting 2 minutes, where you refuse to nap at home afterwards. There are also a few days a month where you sleep for 2.5 hrs! Love those days!

Eating: Still picky, but you are a BIG eater of what you love, and you say about 52 times a day "Mama, hungies!" This month you are loving: fig bars, oatmeal with berries, cheerios, "moo moo" before bedtime, chicken nuggets (most days), runny eggies and toast or hard boiled eggs, squeezies, cheddar bunnies or duckies, strawberries, grapes, blackberries, ham, turkey bacon, quinoa/brown rice blend, and yogurt.
-->Side note: strawberries are your FAVORITE food right now and you would eat an entire huge costco container daily if I let you. You call them "Garbees" and when I say "Oh, you want garbees" you say "NO, garbees!" to which you don't say "YES!" until I actually call them strawberries. I love that you know they are not called garbees, but actually think you are saying it correctly! Ha!
-->Another side note: You are the MESSIEST eater I have every seen. Literally! It doesn't matter what you are eating, by the end of the meal, it will be thoroughly coated all over the table top, the floor, your booster seat, your face, and throughout different parts of your outfit.

Aubrey Loves:
-Being silly and goofy, making all of us laugh

-Playing in the tunnels in the playroom with daddy
-Being chased by "Daddy bear"
-Coloring and painting
-Bathtime
-Playing outside, riding scooters, running around
-Singing: favorites are Twinkle Twinkle, Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, and You are My Sunshine
-Watching "shows"
-Reading books...ALL of them!

Aubrey Hates:
-Not letting "Aubee do it"
-Being bossed around by big sister : ) This girl knows how to stand up for herself!

25 Month Stats:
Height: 33.5 in (approx 30th percentile)

Weight: 24 lb 4 oz (approx 15th percentile)

No new teeth this month, still waiting on all 4 two-year molars, but you've been teething hard core this month and have been more whiny than usual, so hopefully it won't be long!

Gender Reveal for Little Lerma #3!

The gender reveal this year was SO much fun, and probably because it fell around Christmas time. I mean, really, is there a better gift for Christmas than finding out the gender of your little one!? It just makes everything so much more real!

This year we decided to go to the store and pick out a girl and boy onesie (same size, same brand, same price, etc. just in case we had to look at the receipt for some reason) and have the cashier read the letter that said the gender, and only ring up the appropriate one. She then wrapped it in (no joke!) 13 bags so we couldn't see any colors through the bag.

We then got home, placed the bags in a box, and wrapped it. And then had to wait for 2 excruciating days while that box sat under the tree.

I have never wanted to find out something so much in my entire life!

I was fully expecting, and somewhat wanting, a girl. The rest of my family was divided (Mimi, Tia and Isabella thought it was a girl while Pops, Uncle G and Daddy said Boy). I will say, Jon was leaning towards girl but at the last minute changed his mind and said while he wanted a girl, he had a feeling it was a boy.

Either way, we unwrapped our present and got the biggest surprise!

This was right after I explained to the girls what we were doing, and Bella got really concerned that the baby was in the box! She asked if she was ok, and if she was wiggling in there!

This was the moment it sunk in, we were actually having a boy, and we said NOOOO WAY....it's a BOY!!!!

This was the moment where Isabella started to cry saying she wanted a baby sister!

A BOY!!!!

We are beyond thrilled and can't wait to see our little baby boy! This is definitely a game changer with us and our family. He will be the first little boy on my side of the family (I don't even have any boy cousins or anything!). But, BOY oh BOY are we excited!!

Time to go pick out little boy clothes and fun things, because we know pink and ruffles and princess dresses have overtaken our lives over the last 3 years!  Little BOY Lerma, we can't wait to meet you!!
