Aubrey 29 Months!

Happy 29 Months Aubrey Lynn!

29 Month Highlights:

-We went to a working farm called The Art Barn which was so much fun! It was a very overcast, windy and kinda chilly day which worked to our benefit because there were only 30 people there total, and groups of 200 regularly come through. We got to pet goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and horses. We had a hay ride, got to put on bee suits and see honey being made, paint a picture of a sheep, and the highlight for you and Isabella was getting to go on a horse back ride on a HUGE brown horse! You both loved it!

-We went out to brunch as a family several times because who likes cooking a big, yummy breakfast on a Saturday morning! There is a great little family owned place super close to our house, and it's awesome to get you and Bella a huge plate of 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, and fruit for cheap! You LOVE it!

-We worked on the pasture this month quite a bit, trying to get the shed in, the garden boxes placed and filled, and getting everything ready to get our chickens! You love going out there to explore and run around!

-We had several park days because the weather was so nice. You love being outside, and while you always ask to go on the swings, you also love chasing Bella around, climbing on anything and everything, and sliding!

-We took advantage of Mama & Aubee time and went on several "Mama dates". Most involved some sort of eating out and then a park, or walking around a new town, or running a few errands.

Eating in the Burger Bus! YUM!
-You and Isabella LOVE to dress alike, and while most of that involves jammies, occasionally there are matching outfits you wear out as well.

Sleeping: You have become a joy to put to bed again! Not sure if I mentioned this before but you were getting harder and harder to put down because you wanted things exactly how you wanted them, in the order you wanted them, and expected us to read your mind. Led to quite a few tantrums which are oh so fun at the end of the day. But now we are back in a groove and we have a bedtime routine that is consistent which makes everyone happy. We go upstairs around 7 or 7:15 most nights, and we are out of your and Bella's room by 8. You usually don't fall asleep til 8:30 or 9, and sleep until 7 or 7:30 am.

You have been boycotting naps over the last month, and probably 2, sometimes 3 days of the week, you just play in your room rather than napping. I wouldn't care if you were pleasant the rest of the evening, but let's just say Angry Elf comes out many of those times. On the days you do nap, you nap hard, and usually sleep about 2 hours, from 2 until 4ish.

Eating: You are still picky but so many days you surprise me! You still don't love anything green, but you at least will try one bite every time we serve it, and then promptly spit it out. You LOVE spicy foods which cracks us up! You drink salsa at Mexican restaurants right out of the cup! I opened a jar of Hearts of Palm today thinking you wouldn't want to try it, and not only did you try it but you ate about half of them! Favorite foods this month: still loving cereal for breakfast, eggies/toast/turkey bacon for second breakfast, and yogurt, gouda cheese, fig bars, squeezies, ham, chicken nuggets with ketchup, hamburgers, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese and pizza.

28 Week Bumpdate!

Welcome 3rd trimester! I am equal parts super excited to be at this point already, and nervous that we are at this point already! Not sure how time flew so fast, but I'm hoping it continues to do so, because whoa, this pregnancy is SO different, and SO much more painful! The aches and pains of pregnancy have fully kicked in, so despite dreading the sleep deprivation that is the newborn phase, I will be grateful to have my body back...and in less pain!

How Big is Baby: The size of an eggplant! Roughly 2 1/4 lbs, and about 15 inches already!

Weight Gain: +3.3 in the last 2 weeks, so almost +13 overall.

Workouts: We have been so busy doing work out in the pasture and on the chicken coop that my free time is spent there. I'm most certainly counting all of these as work out sessions because they are HARD and my body is SORE after wards!! But in regards to actual scheduled workouts, none.

Maternity Clothes: Definitely needing them now, of all sorts. My regular work out shirts are a little drafty on the bottom of my stomach because they keep creeping up!

Belly Button: It's as flat as it can get, and when I push my stomach out hard, it pops out a little. I definitely don't remember it doing this with either one of the girls, and if it did, it certainly wasn't this early!

Sleep: The last few nights I've been catching up on some sleep which has been nice because it has gotten pretty spotty in the last 2 weeks. But it also feels like I've drifted back to first trimester sleeping habits because I'm wiped out come 4pm, and by 7 or so when we put the girls down, I'm done! I've gotten about 9-10 hours of sleep the last couple nights, and even took a 45 minute nap after church Sunday which was so needed, and so nice!

Cravings: I definitely have a sweet tooth this time around, and crave sugar way more than usual. Oddly enough, it's not just chocolate, but sour gummy candies that always sound oh so good. Otherwise, craving sushi, indian (but still haven't had any!), the occasional pizza, and tacos. Yup, picture perfect healthy eating over here.

Aversions: Nothing I can't eat.

What I Missed: Still craving nice, ice cold, bubbly beer or champaign, especially after a lot of hard, hot yard work!

Symptoms: Low back pain, OH the low back pain! Makes walking, sitting, laying grrr. Otherwise occasional nausea, and I'm feeling like the insane tiredness from first tri is coming back.

Movement: Oh yeah, he definitely is moving in there. Although I will say I feel like he is more chill than Aubrey was, although this could just be me not noticing him moving as much with how busy we have been lately. I feel him most active at night when I lay down to sleep.

Gender: It's a BOY!

Best Moment this Week: We had another high risk OB appointment last Friday which was fun to get to see little man again! Everything looked great. HR was in the 140s. He is measuring 1 week behind, but was weighing at 1 lb 13 oz, so the doctor wasn't concerned.

Apparently that's his nose up close

Worst Moment this Week: Just feeling oh so exhausted, and like I don't have the energy or time to get everything done that I need and want to.

What I am Looking Forward to: Jon and I get to go on Babymoon #3 and I'm seriously counting down the days! We are going to have a relaxing and fun 5 days in Charleston, SC which we've never been to, so I'm thrilled!

26 Week Bumpdate!

Well hello end of the second trimester! I'm not even really sure where you flew off to. Just like that we will be entering into the third trimester and I just can't believe it!

How Big is Baby: The length of a scallion and weighs about 1 3/4 lbs!
via Babycenter

Weight Gain: +3 over the last two weeks, so +9.5 total.

Workouts: I did a few prenatal yoga sessions and took some walks.

Maternity Clothes: One of my friends just gave me an insane amount of maternity clothes so that was fun to go through. Got a few essentials that I think will be worn on repeat. Otherwise sticking to my favorite leggings and sweat pants with t shirts and sweatshirts while I'm at home, and still loving regular scrubs as work.

Belly Button: It's officially a flattie. I've never had my belly button pop out before, but I'm pretty sure at the rate the belly is growing this time around, it will be out before I know it.

Sleep: Doing pretty good in that department. Usually falling asleep sometime around 9:30 or 10, and sleeping til 5:40 on work days, and anywhere between 5:30 and 7:30 on non-work days. Usually waking up about once a night to pee, although there are a handful of nights where that doesn't happen which is so nice!

Cravings: Not really craving anything in particular, but loving sparkling water and sweets! Gheesh I could eat chocolate or sour gummies every single day which is so not like me!

Aversions: Not really anything

What I Missed: Sushi! Still craving ice cold beer too!

Symptoms: Belly is growing and growing! Mild occasional heartburn. Lower back aches/pain. Stomach sensitivity/intermittent nausea/gassiness.

Movement: He's a moving and shaking in there. Finally starting to see the belly move with kicks and punches. Too bad every time Jon tries to feel it he stops completely!

Gender: It's a BOY!

Best Moment this Week: At my last appointment, the MD I saw asked if I was going to try for a VBAC which was news to me (everyone else I had seen said I had to have a repeat c-section). So there's something to think about for sure!  At that appointment, baby boy's HR ranged from 140s-170s (he was moving quite a bit!), and I was measuring 1 cm ahead of schedule which is certainly new this pregnancy given the last 2 I consistently measured behind!

Worst Moment this Week: I've been working full time hours for the last couple of weeks and I'm just tired. It takes a lot out of me to be on my feet and running around a huge PICU divided into 2 floors. Good thing I love my job!

What I am Looking Forward to: Seeing baby boy on US this week at the high risk specialist!
