16 Week Bumpdate!

While I still don't feel like my usual self (or as good as I felt second trimester with Isabella), things are on the up and up. I'm glad to already be at 16 weeks, and know that the rest of the pregnancy will probably fly by!  Each week I feel more pregnant and less "just fat" which is always a good thing, and I look forward to all the great things that the rest of second trimester will bring!

And just for comparison's sake, here is my 16 week pic with Isabella (January 2014)

How Big is Baby: The size of an avacado

Weight Gain: -0.5lb, so overall still down 9 lbs (and really this half lb up, half lb down is probably water weight!). At this point with Bella I was up 9 lbs, and yet even though I am down 9 lbs this time around, I am still 14 lbs heavier...grr!

Workouts: 14-15 weeks my plan was to do five 20 minute workouts, even if they were super easy. Well, I managed to do 2 short strength/cardio workouts and one insanely intense 1.5 mile hike up to a waterfall, and then back down. Good enough!

15-16 weeks I was able to fit in 6 workouts...go me! Most were just 20 minutes of work, with 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down, but I'm giving myself major props! I did 2 cardio/body weight videos, 2 walk/runs, 1 walk, strength training once, and yoga once (yes that's technically 7 workouts, but the day I did 20 min yoga, I also did a 20 min walk).  Boo-ya.

Maternity Clothes: Loving comfy and flowy summer dresses, workout gear, regular shirts, and maternity shorts (or my fat shorts that I bought at the thrift store a couple months ago).

Belly Button: Innie

Sleep: I am still going to bed around 10pm, sleeping mostly well during the night with the exception of one pee break, and the occasional crazy dreams that wake me up, and wake up around 7 or 8 am.  Still pretty groggy throughout the morning thanks to Diclegis but I think my body is getting used to it b/c it's not as bad as it used to be.

And 2 days ago I broke him out...he's BAAAACCCKKKK.  Yes, what Jon and I affectionately call "The Cloud" (AKA: my U-shaped pregnancy body pillow) has now taken over our bed! And I couldn't be more thrilled!  I have actually slept more soundly and comfortably since busting him out. A second and third trimester MUST HAVE!

Cravings: Pickles are my one true craving- as in I think about them and my mouth insanely waters. And I desperately want to drink all the juice in the jar! Otherwise, the rest of what I eat is what I feel like I can tolerate which these days includes tomatoes from my garden with salt, fresh Caprese salad (with garden tomatoes and basil!), Chipotle vegetarian burrito bowl, macaroni and cheese, watermelon, nectarines and mangoes, and the occasional Jimmy Johns veggie or tuna sandwich on their amazing French bread.

And FINALLY just this week, I am able to drink about a half cup of iced coffee in the morning! I have missed this experience for so long (although the fact that I am averse to hot coffee, and just want iced is weird...but I'll take it!).

Aversions: Same ole thing- any meat, poultry or fish...they all make me seriously gag still!

What I Missed: Happy hour on our back deck in the evening, particularly with an ice cold beer since it's been so hot!

Symptoms: Nausea, although this has gotten better and doesn't last as long or as severe as before. Still with super low energy and tiredness.  Some right sided round ligament pain (probably b/c of all the workouts I squeezed in this week).

Movement: I have felt multiple little pops, like rice crispies or bubbles popping, mostly at night when I lay down to bed over the last 2 weeks.  I am thinking this is definitely baby and not gas! Love it! Just can't wait to feel it more definitively.

Gender: Jon is sticking with girl. I am going girl/boy/girl/boy this week...yeah, I seriously can't make up my mind! No mother's intuition here.

Best Moment this Week: Celebrating Isabella's first birthday...how is my baby 1 already!?!? Feeling better on most days, at least better enough to get in some short workouts!

Worst Moment this Week: Am I still complaining about not feeling like myself and the bad nausea/extreme tiredness!?!...ugh! Other than that, no complaints.

What I am Looking Forward to: Jon and I leave on Friday to the Bahamas for a 3 night vacation to celebrate our 10th Anniversary that was on June 10th. OMG...I am SOOOOO excited! Sun, sand, crystal clear water, good Caribbean food, time alone with my man, and some virgin drinks with little umbrellas in them!

12 Months! One year!!

 Dear Isabella-

How you are already one year old I will never know!  It has been amazing to see you grow from a teeny tiny 5 lb 4 oz peanut to a petite, cute little lady.  Every day you get more and more fun. Every day your personality shines though more and more.  And every day your Daddy and I just learn new things to love about you.  While I am so sad that your first year has just flown by, I look forward to the many, many more ahead.  Bella Boo, you are our answered prayer, our first born, and we couldn't be more grateful that you are the one that made us Mama and Daddy. We love you with all our hearts!

Happy 12 Months Isabella Rae!
Getting a rocking chair picture is near impossible these days...you are CONSTANTLY on the move!!!

Exactly! : )

12 Month Highlights:
-Every month I keep meaning to comment on this but I then promptly forget when it comes time to posting.  I don't know when you started this, but you were pretty little.  Frequently, especially when you are excited, hungry, or any range of emotion, your hands are in constant movement.  You turn your wrists and wiggle those little fingers. It's funny and cute all at the same time.

-This month we made the most of the gorgeous May/June weather in GA had a bunch of pool days.  While Mama loves going to the big pool at friends or family houses, you are just as content in your tiny little pool on the deck.

-You still only have 2 tiny little teeth on the bottom center, and yet you think you can eat absolutely anything if it is on an adult's plate. Your appetite has grown tremendously this month!  You even have been known to scream/cry when we excitedly say "All Done"...and you clearly are not!

-We had a play date with the Lefler girls, spending time at the pool, and then play time back at home. You love being around girls older than you!

-We have truly loved Buford Dam and all the parks, lake and beach, and woods that it holds. We drive there after church quite a bit while you nap(since you conk out as soon as we pull out of the parking lot), and love taking picnics and just hiking.
You've been giving more and more kisses this month...and we can't get enough!

-Putting you to bed at night has become one of my most favorite things to do with you. You are super cuddly, and just love to "sing" along with some of the songs. Lately, you have started to play with my hair or tickle my neck and then giggle, which makes me giggle, which makes you giggle harder...and it is a downward giggling spiral after that! You go down so easily- 3 songs and a prayer while rocking- and it still amazes me there is no crying at all anymore!

-We went to Savannah with Mimi and Pops for 4 days.  We stayed super busy which meant you got one nap at best each day, and despite being exhausted, you were such a trooper!  You loved talking a lot of walks, going on a trolley tour, going to Tybee Island for the day, and just taking in all the sights.
SO sleepy on the trolley tour yet you refused to nap! This girl doesn't want to miss a moment...wonder where she gets that from!?
-We had a small family birthday party for you the day before your birthday since Tia and Dani were leaving for Costa Rica on your birthday.  We had a great time enjoying good food, singing to you, and watching you smash your healthy cake!  I will do a separate post for your party bc there were just too many cute pictures...but here are a few.

-On your actual birthday, we went to Amicalola Falls for a fun but really strenuous hike.  Then we went out to dinner at Ryan's and you just loved having a buffet of choices!  We love that you are now the age where we can take you out and feed you from our plates (but we are still only sticking to healthy fruit, veggie and lean grilled protein options). Plus you are so well behaved and just love sitting at a big people table, always trying to get the waitresses or people at different table's attention by laughing and flirting : )

Sleeping: You continue to be a great sleeper. Bedtime is still around 5:30 or 6 pm and you wake up anywhere from 6:30 am til 9am...it's our best guessing game! Sometimes I think you wake up at 6 or 7 but just play in your crib for an hour, and then go back to sleep.  When you wake up before 8, you eat, and then go right back to bed til about 8 or 8:30.

You nap twice a day, usually from 10-11:30 or 12, and then 1:30 or 2 for about an hour or so.

Breastfeeding: I have to say that I am so grateful and so proud of us to have made it to the one year mark!  It was definitely not easy, but I am so glad that we made it. Right after you hit 11 months, you weaned yourself down to 3 feeds a day, mostly b/c you had so many mornings where you were waking up at 8 or 9 am! So you get a morning feed, one around noon or 1pm, and then one right before bed.  At the beginning of the month, you were still taking a 1-2 ounce bottle of formula right before bed (since I ran out of my freezer stash and decided to stop pumping...hallelujah!).  However, the last 2 weeks you have not been interested in that whatsoever.  Apparently your big appetite for food at dinner, and the milk you get from me is enough to tide you over for the next 15 hours or so!

Isabella Loves:
-Eating food off our plates!
-Swimming and baths...definitely a water baby!
-Swinging in her baby swing in the yard
-Being outside
-Being around other kids
-Cell phone toy and musical toys
-Activity table and wooden activity block
-The TV remote control or our cell phones!

Isabella Hates:
-Shoes...they literally last about 3 seconds on your feet!
-Not getting enough to eat...she will scream harder than we've ever seen if you say "All done" and she's not ready!

12 Month Stats:
Height: 18 lbs
Weight: 29 in

*You are in size 3 costco diapers which we love how big and absorbent they are!

*You are wearing mostly 9 month clothes, although there are plenty of 6 mo stuff that still fits great. Some 12 mo things fit ok, others are just swimming on you!

Isabella's Firsts this Month:
-Crawling...finally!
-Pulling up and standing for prolonged periods of time
-Cruising around your play table or in the play room holding onto various toys
-Taking several steps using a shopping cart to hold onto and push
-Clapping (you've done this for a couple months but really mastered getting the hands together this month)
-Waving bye-bye

14 Week Bumpdate!

Hallelujah...we have entered the second trimester!  Nobody could be more excited than me. And while I am all about savoring every moment of pregnancy, I'm not sad to leave a lot of the yuckiness of the first trimester behind me!

How Big is Baby: The size of a lemon

Weight Gain: +0.5 over the last 2 weeks, so still down 8.5 lbs overall.

Workouts: From 12-13 weeks I felt so awful the best I could do was clean the kitchen and straighten up the house...this seriously felt like it took everything out of me! 13-14 weeks I felt a bit better on a couple of the days and was able to get in 2 20 minute YouTube prenatal workouts in and a walk or two.

Maternity Clothes: I can wear the "fat shorts" I bought about a month ago (nothing like wearing 3 and 4 sized larger pants than you are used to to boost the ego!), but maternity pants and shorts are definitely comfy at this point!  Regular shirts and flowy dresses still fit, just like last time.

Belly Button: Innie

Sleep: Thanks to the Diclegis I still get super drowsy and am out usually by 10 pm, and sleep mostly well until about 7 or 8 am.  I have been having really weird and sometimes freaky dreams that interrupt my sleep.  And I usually wake up once a night to pee.

Cravings: Pickles...and the juice! Loving fig bars first thing in the morning, a bagel with plain cream cheese mid-morning, and macaroni and cheese several nights a week. Super healthy over hear I tell ya! I also am loving watermelon, nectarines and mangoes. If we go out, I like to get a vegetarian burrito bowl with black beans, brown rice, all the veggies, and guac.  Pizza tends to go down and stay down ok about once a week as well. And I've had a few cravings for ice cream as well...good thing I've only caved once!

Aversions: Chicken, turkey, meat, fish, and basically anything not on the list above.

What I Missed: A good margarita on one of our pool days over the last couple weeks. Having energy and stamina like I used to.

Symptoms: Super all day nausea, lack of energy, headaches (lots of headaches!), and bloating/bump starting to show but with a layer of weird fat that just makes me look SO fat, and not pregnant!

Movement: Too early, but getting closer! I will say over the last several days I have felt a few little "bubbles popping" usually when I lay down at night that could very well be the baby...or maybe just small gas.

Gender: Jon still sticking with girl, I will say girl too!

Best Moment this Week: Getting to see Little Lerma #2 on US...twice!  He/she was a stinker and not cooperating by laying the right way, so we got to do a 30 minute US, and then went back for another 20 min one later.  Love seeing how much the baby has grown and all it's little wiggles!

Worst Moment this Week: Still feeling awful and not like I am entertaining Bella the way that I want to.  Can't.Wait.for more energy!

What I am Looking Forward to: I CANNOT wait to find out the gender...it's killing me that we have to wait 6 more weeks than we did with Bella! Agghh!!
