26 Week Bumpdate!

Well we are just chuggin' right along aren't we!? Third trimester is right around the corner and while many days seem long, the time overall is going fast!
Super creative board + weird lighting = awesome pic!

How Big is Baby: The size of a head of lettuce
Via

Weight Gain: +1 over the last 2 weeks, so -2 overall.

Workouts: Week 24 I was so tired and really didn't want to work out, but I fit in 1 prenatal yoga class, one sculpt class, and a super fun but intense hike (mostly b/c there were about 400 stairs down, and 400 back up!) in the North GA mountains. Not too shabby.

Week 25 I was able to do 5 workouts: two cardio classes, one intense prenatal sculpt class, one prenatal yoga, and hour long gardening session that involved about 1000 squats and some crazy sweating (so yes, definitely a workout!)!

Maternity Clothes: Definitely needing them, but loving that summer dresses are flowy, and workout gear is super comfy, and I don't have to buy an extra wardrobe!

Belly Button: Still an innie, but getting flatter and flatter as each week goes by!

Sleep: Meh...some nights I sleep great, other nights I wake up and can't go back to sleep. Your guess is as good as mine as to what will happen each night.  One thing is for sure: my hips fall asleep at an incredibly fast rate these days which causes a whole bunch of tossing and turning from side to side.

Cravings: Not much of an appetite these days, and not really craving anything in particular.  Indian food always sounds good, as does pizza and mac-n-cheese. Oh yeah, super healthy cravings over here!

Aversions: Grilled chicken, beef (with the exception of the 1/2 hamburger I ate the other day that I actually enjoyed), fish, turkey.

What I Missed: Wine!

Symptoms: Lower back pain, overall getting harder to move and just general aches and pains kinda all over, lack of appetite.

Movement: Oh this little lady loves to move around and the belly acrobatics have started to really show...LOVE it!

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Best Moment this Week: We had a great getaway with our best friends to the North GA mountains last weekend that was filled with relaxation, tons of laughing, a great workout, and gorgeous scenery!

Worst Moment this Week: Nothing too bad this week : )

What I am Looking Forward to: We are taking a family trip to San Francisco and Pacific Grove this week which will *hopefully* be fun! Jon has a work conference for the first half of the week which is probably about how long it will take for Isabella to adjust to the 3 hour time difference, and then its a vaca for the second half of the week! Looking forward to time on the beach, cliff-side hiking, taking Bella to the aquarium and just spending time together!

Little Lerma 24 Week Appointment!

Well Little Lerma #2 (yes, we are still working on a name!) had her 24 week appointment today and it went great!

Mimi got to come along to see the Ultrasound which was fun, while daddy had a park date with Isabella!

Everything looked great; the calcification in the heart that was there last month is now essentially gone, so whatever it was is a non-issue now!  And the part of the spine we didn't get a great view on last time looks perfect.

HR= 147.

I go next month, and then we are already at 2 week intervals...seriously how is it just flying by!?!?

As of now, this was our last US. However, I am measuring the same as I was with Bella, and if this continues on (as did my sister's and mom's pregnancies) we continue to measure small, and will get another US towards the end.  I love that one because the baby is so much more developed and looks more human, less alien! So we shall see...

But for now, I will leave you with what may be our last US pictures of the little lady before her big debut!
Cute little leg : )
And look at those little feet...or kinda big feet!
Shoulder, forearm...and a thumbs up : )

Hand on her forehead- oh life is so hard in the womb : )

Isabella 14 Months!

This past month it has become clear that Bella is officially a toddler and definitely not a baby anymore.  She has become less afraid of new things, more curious about her surroundings, eager to be on the move, and certainly understands "No."  While this has been a fun transition and I look forward to her continuing to grow and develop, it's sad how fast time goes!  And yet, here we are...14 months.  So without further delay...

Happy 14 Months Isabella Rae!

Near impossible to get a still, non-blurry, happy picture with this little lady!

14 Month Highlights:
-Your hair has really grown and become very curly this month. It's crazy most days and keeping a headband on is more difficult, but I LOVE it!  Some days you look like Einstein hair and while crazy it is adorable on you!  With the humidity outside, you get tight little curls.

-I absolutely love having a video monitor, if not for anything other than seeing your cute little sleeping positions.  More nights than not we find you on your stomach with your little booty in the air. So cute!

-We took walks at Sims Lake park with Tia and Daddy several times this month, and playing in the little creek afterwards is a fun way to cool down!

-We went to Fort Walton Beach, FL for vacation again this year and had a blast.  We stayed for a week (seriously, staying 2 weeks last year was a WAY better idea!), and you loved it! You didn't love the sand, but had fun splashing in the water (as long as waves weren't charging into you, which scared you!) or playing in the small pool under the canopy with a bunch of squirty toys.  You also loved the pool which was no surprise there!  You took great naps during the day there and overall slept well at night (minus waking up really early every morning!) even though you were in a pack-n-play in the walk in closet : )

Skeptical of those waves
-You've really started loving to read books this month and once you find one you like, you wan to read it about 7 times (sometimes 70!) in a row! Favorites have been your Goodnight Butterflies book, First Words (which all 8 words in there are rivoting I tell ya!), Wheels on the Bus, Baby Einstein Languages First Words Book, and any touch and feel book.

-We had a few more pool days this month at Mimi's and the Lefler's pool.  I love being in the water with you because you just love it so much!

-Tia and Dani Leigh slept over a couple nights while Daddy went on a business trip.  We loved having 24/7 playdates : )

Sleeping:  Sleep has been a bit unpredictable this month. Let's just say sleep has never been your strong suit, and this month was no different.  Bedtime is generally around 6pm and a majority of the nights you don't need our attention until about 6 or 7 am.  However, maybe once a week (two or three times on not great weeks) you are still waking up at 2 or 3 am and not able to go back to sleep. Most nights we try to let you figure it out on your own.  However, some nights I just don't have the patience to listen to you cry for more than 5 minutes so I rock you for a bit and put you back in the crib.

Your morning nap this month has also been very unpredictable in terms of timing. Some mornings you were up at 6 and ready to be back down by 8. Other mornings you are up at 6:30 or 7 and go down around 9.  Some days its 10.  Just totally depends!  Keeps me on my toes.  Either way, you morning nap is usually 1 hr 15 min to 1.5 hours.

You are ready for your afternoon nap about 2 hours after you wake up from your first...I can sometimes stretch it to 3 hours if we stay busy.  Either way, afternoon nap is usually around 1 (ish) and lasts about an hour (sometimes 1.5 when I am lucky!).

I will say 2 positive things about sleep though:
1.) Putting you to bed is one of my favorite things to do! When I ask if are you ready for "night night" you smile and get excited.  As we climb the stairs your hands are moving and you are giggling, and if someone is in the living room you wave bye-bye.  As soon as I pick up the paci out of the crib, and go to sit in the rocker you are all smiles.  I love the time that we get to cuddle and you are just so content laying in my arms.  Naps we sing our one good night song I made up ("It's Time to Say Goodnight"), and bedtime we pray and sing 3 songs (usually You are My Sunshine, Don't Shut the Door Tight, and the Goodnight Song). Then I put you in the crib wide awake, and you put yourself to sleep.  This still amazes me (probably b/c of all the sleep problems you had early on)!

2.) You are very content in your crib. You go down wide awake and if you aren't completely ready for sleep, you crawl and play around until you are.  When you wake up, you wake up happy and talking, never crying (unless something is legit wrong!).  It's nice because you like to leisurely wake up, and it gives me about a 15 minute warning before I have to come get you.  You easily can entertain yourself with the 2 Moos and Lovie for 15-30 minutes once you wake up.  I am amazed!

Breastfeeding: For the first month ever since Bella was born, I have nothing to say in the breastfeeding column.  I don't miss it one bit.  Not one bit!

From now on I will talk about eating instead : ) And boy oh boy are you a good eater! Some days you out-eat me!  You absolutely love your oatmeal in the morning with mixed berries, strawberries, or pears.  We recently realized you eat an entire half cup of oatmeal and about 1/2 cup of fruit...hello! Lunch and dinner you are totally not into purees anymore, and only are wanting finger foods.  You still like green beans, broccoli, meat, chicken, and pretty much anything if it comes off of my plate.

Perhaps your favorites this month have been sweet potatoes, grilled chicken, cheese, eggs with spinach and Ezekiel bread, and greek yogurt. You eat 3 meals and one snack (after your second nap). You don't like milk at all (whole, coconut or almond) so we get your calcium in with your morning oatmeal (making it with whole milk), cheese, yogurt etc. You love drinking from your water bottle, and also love coconut water.

Isabella Loves:
-Music! This lady has truly started dancing and singing to any and all music in the car, in the playroom, anywhere in the house!
-Musical toys (especially her talking/singing puppy)
-Cuddling with her Lambie floor mat
-Playing "Roly Poly"
-Swinging and playing outside
-Swimming or being in water in general
-Eating good food (you seriously get more excited about things you love to eat than anything else in this life right now!)
-Moo Cow with sleep

Isabella Hates:

-Being tired!

-Shoes or anything on her feet
-Flying monkey toy that yells like tarzan (she loves the monkey, hates when he screams!)
-Door stoppers when they "boiing"

14 Month Stats:
Weight: 19.5 lbs (5th percentile)
Height: 30.5 in (between 50th and 75th percentile)
Teeth: 4 (2 on top, 2 on bottom)

Isabella's Firsts this Month:
-First time climbing on stairs (you were on the 5th stair when I noticed you were there...agghh!!)
-First top tooth starting to poke through

24 Week Bumpdate!

This week I took a step back in the energy and feeling good department for some reason. The nausea came back full force in the late afternoon/evenings, and I just was totally sapped of all energy.  But baby is kicking and flopping and wiggling all around which makes it just a little better : ) I truly love feeling her in there and being reminded why I feel this way!

24 weeks first time around

How Big is Baby: The size of a cantaloupe!

Via
Weight Gain: -1 this week (probably just regulating weight after vaca), so down 3 lbs overall now.

Workouts: At 22 weeks I was able to do 3 prenatal yoga sessions, one prenatal cardio interval dance video, a 2 mile very hilly (AKA hard!) walk/run, and one full body strength training session.

*It's amazing what not working full time in the PICU and feeling better can do for working out! I have to say I am loving that I can be as active as I am this time around...finally!

Week 23 I did a hill interval workout for 30 minutes which may have just tipped me over the edge because the rest of the week I had NO energy and felt exhausted! So, the rest of the week I stuck to yoga sessions and got in 3. By Saturday I felt more rested and we took a family hike (3 miles round trip) at a beautiful Mountain Preserve near our house and got to take in the amazing views from the top over 1 mile up.

Maternity Clothes: Definitely needed when "dressing up" or wearing pants/shorts that aren't yoga pants! Living in my regular flowy summer dresses or athletic shorts with stretchy tanks.

Belly Button: Innie, but definitely shallower!

Sleep:  For the most part I am sleeping decent. I usually fall asleep around 10 pm and wake up at 6 am.  In those 8 hours I usually have to pee once if not twice, and wake up a good 6-10 other times to roll over to my other side b/c my hips are throbbing.  And about 3-4 times a week I can't sleep for about an hour so I usually just lay in bed staring at the dark, or get on my phone to do some research.  So I'm definitely not getting long intervals of uninterrupted sleep, but I don't wake up tired usually.

Cravings: Indian food (particularly Chicken Makhni with basmati rice and garlic naan which is the only way I can really eat chicken!), cereal with 2% milk, fruit especially mangoes and peaches, and homemade fried okra. Occasionally I will get a sweet craving for dark chocolate or a little ice cream...good thing we don't keep those in the house! And last weekend I craved a McDonalds double cheeseburger and fries...glad we kept on driving by and didn't cave b/c I don't think it would have settled very well with the way my stomach has been lately.

Aversions: Grilled chicken, fish, beef, turkey.

What I Missed: Jon and I reinstated our Deck Happy Hours this week that we did a bunch before I was pregnant because the weather has been gorgeous . Drinking a Lime LaCroix, while satisfying, is not the same as a nice cold beer, margarita or a full bodied red wine, but it was still enjoyable nonetheless.

Symptoms: Nausea came back full force this week in the late afternoon/evening time which was no fun. Gagging while making Bella's dinner and feeding her unfortunately was not a thing of the past this week : (

Movement: This little lady loves to roll around, much more than I remember with Bella!  She kicks hard which has been visible on the belly for the last 3 weeks or so now. Some nights when I lay down she feels like she swims to the top of the uterus, then belly flops down to the bottom with a huge thud! Love feeling this little girl! I also feel like she is scratching at the bottom of my uterus with her tiny little fingers...weird but cool feeling!

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Best Moment this Week: I kept a pretty chill schedule this week which was nice to relax and spend a lot of time with Bella.  She is growing and changing every day...way to quickly!  I am amazed at how much she is learning and this is such a fun age to enjoy!

Worst Moment this Week: Nausea : ( Hate it!

What I am Looking Forward to: We have an overnight getaway planned next week with our best friends...can't wait for a relaxing, fun time away with the man and the besties!

Little Lerma #2 Gender Reveal!

We had our anatomy scan done last Wednesday, and patiently waited until Sunday night so that we could do a small gender reveal on the beach with my family.  While the wait was excruciating, it was SO worth it!

I loved that we found out together. I loved that we have some pretty cool pictures with a great background to capture the moment.  I love that rather than hearing the news on my voicemail while at work unexpectedly, this was so much more fun!

So once last chance to place your guesses : )

It's a.......................

Isabella's face finding out she's having a sister is priceless!!!  What is not priceless are all the baby hairs growing in all crazy style on the front of my head...ugh, post-partum hair loss followed immediately by pregnancy hair growth is not working for me!

Despite my wishy washiness and going back and forth between boy or girl, it is indeed a girl. I clearly have no mother's intuition when it comes to guessing the gender of my child. Jon on the other hand is 2 for 2, so way to go babe!

And just for further proof that it is indeed a girl...
