Aubrey 35 Months!

Happy 35 Months Aubrey Lynn!

35 Month Highlights:

-Whew, you have a LOT of personality! You are so cute, so silly, so spunky, and can throw a fit with the best of them.

-You LOVE your Daddy, and one of your most favorite things in the world is playing "Daddy Bear" at night before bed. This mostly involves Daddy pretending to be a bear and chasing you in circles in our bedroom, and then tackling and tickling you. But if he goes down you climb all over him and say "I want to be a monkey climbing on the bear : )

-You also love our "play ground" and we love how tired it gets you : ) You LOVE swinging, going down the spiral slide, and walking on the "balance beams"

-We love doing crafts together, and painting these wooden pumpkins before Halloween was no exception! You took your time and painted sections with their own color which turned out cute and colorful in the end! Also, we are still working on smiling pretty!

-Mama is still trying to figure out how to fit in work outs with you 3 crazy kids : ) On Tuesdays, we've been trying to put Isaiah down for his morning nap, and then go out to the gym (in our 3rd car garage), so Mama can work out, and you and Bella can play. But about half the time you are on the yoga mats with Mama getting your own work out in. Otherwise you love riding the scooter, playing (mostly spilling) bubbles, or running with the garden flowers/pinwheels!

-You and Isabella got flu shots this month, and on the way home we drove through downtown Woodstock and saw all of the pumpkin scare crows. You both saw the Incredibles one from the car and asked to stop. So we spent about 45 minutes walking around and looking at them all which was fun. We ended up the walk at the farmers market where you got a free lollipop, and that just made your day. Good treat for being a rock star at your flu shot!

-Bella has taken up a new hobby this month: photography. You have taken up a new hobby this month: modeling : ) I laugh everytime I get on the computer and see the camera phone uploads that I didn't even know were on my phone! You love being goofy while she tells you to smile for the camera!

Photo cred for above 4 pictures: Isabella Rae : )

-We went apple picking at a new orchard this year and LOVED it! Thank you Hillcrest Orchards! It was a gorgeous day, the apples were plentiful, and there was SO much to do, we spent 6 hours there, and didn't even get to it all! You ate your weight in apples, but also loved the cow train ride, the play grounds, and just being with your buddies (DL, and the Harts came with us!).

Orchard races...not sure if it was more fun for those participating, or the adults watching EVERY.SINGLE.KID wipe out!!!

You got to milk a cow!

-Mama got to take you on a special date with Tia and DL to the Holly Springs Fall Festival. It was over 90 degrees, and we were sweating like crazy, but still had a blast! Spin art, good food trucks, icees, bouncy houses, hay rides, and tattoo fun!

-We did trunk or treat again this year at your school and since life is just a bit chaotic at the moment with mama working and having a new baby and all, we kept it super simple... Care Bears!

Sleeping: Bedtime is still 7:30, at least that's the goal. This last month Daddy has been more tired and since he usually puts you to bed, it's been pretty close to this time! You play in your bed until 8:30, sometimes 9:30, and then sleep til about 7:30 or so.

Naps are still at 1:30 or 2, and while you would rather skip the nap these days, you still need them! About once, sometimes twice a week, you just play in bed through your nap, and those nights are a bit rough. AKA: whiny! So Mama has started to go in your room by 3 if you don't fall asleep, and make you close your eyes and not move a muscle which sometimes makes you mad, and sometimes makes you giggle. But, it always makes you fall asleep, and that's what matters! Wake up time is 4 if you fall asleep quickly, or 4:30 if you fall asleep around 3.

Eating: You are a true meat eater, and hate all things vegetarian : ) No new favorites this month!

Aubrey Loves:
-Playing outside
-Playing on the swing set
-Coloring, painting, crafting
-Watching You Tube Kids songs, PJ Masks, and Paw Patrol
-Dress up, especially being "Anna" from Frozen

Aubrey Hates:
 -Taking naps

Isaiah Jae 4 Months!

Ahhhh, can I just say what a breath of fresh air it is to be out of the 4th trimester!? Isaiah is turning into a super cute, laid back, more smiley (although he's still stingy with the smiles most days!), little guy that we couldn't love more. I don't know if it's because I know he's my last or what, but my goodness, I just can't get enough of him!

Happy 4 Months Isaiah Jae!

4 Month Highlights:

-We spent the first 2 weeks of your 3rd month at the beach, and wow, it was a great, long trip. You did fantastic with traveling in the car the 6 hours there, although coming home was a different story...you cried about half the trip and were just over being in your car seat. You seamlessly moved into a new "home" for 2 weeks, and had no problems with sleeping, which we were so grateful for! You slept through your first boat ride, and pretty much most of vacation. But we did get you out to the beach and pool a couple times (to sleep, of course!).

-You absolutely LOVE your piano play mat (ok, well it was sister's first!). You smile, and kick and lay on there anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes and just play!

-You are getting better and better at tummy time and most days you last about 5 minutes or so before getting tired or fussy.

-You are smiling more and more each week which just melts our heart. You even started to giggle at the beginning of the month. It's so cute because it sounds like you are trying to laugh, but just can't get out more than a forced grunt.

-You are getting more and more chill in the evenings, which has been so helpful for Mama. You are content just sitting in the swing, watching Big Sisters eat, or do crafts. Sometimes we listen to music, sometimes we just chat, but you just sit there and observe it all!

-No picture, but it's worth mentioning, at 14 weeks you started pooping only once a week (usually on Fridays!). It doesn't seem to bother you, but boy oh boy, when you poop, you POOP!

Sleeping: I don't even want to say it out loud but you are a rock star sleeper. Bedtime is anywhere between 6:30 and 7:15, depending on the day and when you eat. We wake you up at 9ish for a dream feed, and then you don't wake up til 8:30 in the morning! Many, many days, we are waking you UP at 8:30! Occasionally we will hear you around 7:30 am, but you just talk a bit and then go back to sleep!

Naps are still a bit sporadic, but you usually take one great nap a day, for about 2 ish, sometimes 2.5 hours. You usually are ready to be put back down 1 hour after you are awake, so many days you take a great nap from 9:30 til 11:30 or even noon! After that you are usually awake about an hour between naps, but take shorter naps. The afternoon nap is an hour to hour and a half, and anything after that is usually a 30-45 minutes cat nap.

Eating: You are still a great eater. One thing that changed this month, was Mama went back to work mid-way through, so we had to get adjusted to you taking bottles all day, and Mama pumping all day, twice a week. You did fantastic though and seemed to adjust quite well!

All month, you would take 5 feeds a majority of the days, and then a couple days a week, you'd want a 6th feed for the day, usually squeezed in the afternoon.

When you are bottle fed while Mama works, you usually take 19-22 oz over 5 feeds.  Then mama comes home and breastfeeds you for the "dream feed" at 9pm.

Dream feed at the beginning of the month was at 10 pm, then at 15 weeks, we pushed it back to 9:30, and at 17 weeks, it was pushed again to 9pm. This just helps Mama get better sleep the nights before she works.

You still only take one side for the first and last feeds of the day, but the middle 3 you take both sides. You are a quick eater, and when taking one side are done in about 8 minutes, and with both sides you are done in about 12.

Isaiah Loves:
-Piano play mat
-Being held
-Facing forward to watch everything going on in the room
-Elephant paci
-Boba wrap
-Having his head rubbed
-Being swaddled, although at 17 weeks we started using the modified arms-up swaddle
-Sleeping in his room, dark, sound machine on
-To talk up a storm!!! You are cooing and babbling like crazy, and even get louder when sisters are talking : )

Isaiah Hates:
-Still doesn't love baths, but at least he doesn't scream through them
-Being in his car seat for long periods of time
-Having shirts go over his head
