Isaiah Jae 16 Months

Happy 16 Months Isaiah Jae!

16 Month Highlights:
-We went to the beach for 11 days which was awesome. You did a great job overall sleeping, and most days just took one nap because you enjoyed being on the beach.  Mama tried to get you to nap on her one day at the beach, but you weren't having it. You wanted to be in your bed, or a part of the action.

-We had dinner one night at a fun family restaurant, right on the water

-We had lunch another day at a place right on the bay, and you loved watching all of the birds, fish, and kayakers that passed by!

-Enjoying lunch poolside one day

-You loved the kiddie splash pad!!!

-We spent a good amount of time outside this month because despite being October, it still felt like summer! You LOVE to swing!

-Halloween jammie time!!

-We went to Hillcrest Apple Orchard and had a blast. You ate your weight in apples : )

-You are cruising and climbing onto everything this month, but still no independent walking

-Trunk or Treat at MCA was a blast. We even won 2nd place for our Bakery themed trunk!!

-You love to roll on the ground and be silly to get us to laugh. Works every time!

Sleeping: Bedtime is still 7pm (ish). You sleep until about 7 am the next morning, and on most days we let you play in your crib until 7:45 or 8 am.

You started dropping your second nap more consistently this month, so over the last week we've made a more conscientious effort to condense naptime into one longer one. Some days you go down around 11:30 (when you're just wiped), but we try to hold you off until 1245 or so. You sleep 2.5 to 3 hours most days...holla!

Eating: No big changes. Favorites this month include: yogurt squeezies, PB sandwiches, oatmeal, cheerios, pirates booty (thank you vacation for introducing him to what we affectionately call Baby Crack), strawberries, raspberries, hamburger, cheese, and mum mums.

Isaiah Loves:
-Musical toys
-Bathtime
-Stacker toys
-Remote controls
-Putting on Daddy's hats

-You also love crawling under tables, cabinets, anything you can get yourself into!

-Listening to Isabella play piano, while spending time with Daddy

-Little drummer boy

-And this was when your mobile came down...when you started cruising all around your crib and playing with the animals!

-Isabella loves playing piano for you. You love coming up behind her and pulling her hair!

-Family pizza night to celebrate Uncle G becoming a citizen

-You got a nasty stomach bug which the diarrhea lasted 9 miserable days. The first day you got it though you had fevers and were just miserable, laying around, doing a whole lotta nothing. poor baby!

-You love the ride on car, even though you still can't ride it yourself. You just love all the music it plays!

Sleeping: Bedtime is around 7 pm, you sleep til sometime in the 6 am hour, and we try to wait to get you out of bed until 7ish. Some days you make it, others, you don't.

First nap is around 10 am and you sleep anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The days you take a longer nap, you refuse nap in the afternoon. We still lay you down around 3 but you just play in bed til 4.

Eating: You hate vegetables. You love veggie straws. You also love oatmeal, cheerios, ham, burgers, toast, guacamole, PB sandwiches, and most fruits. You started feeding yourself with a spoon this month as well, although "feeding yourself" is a loose term. It mostly means you play with the spoon, and occasionally get some food item in your mouth : )

-Stand up musical/activity table

-Reading books
-Push toy
-Bathtime
-Playing with remote controls
-Putting things into buckets, drawers, baskets, etc and taking them back out, repeat

Isaiah 14 Months

Oh how we love this little guy! I mean, seriously, he is so much fun, and just so stinking adorable. LOVE this age!!

Happy 14 Months Isaiah Jae!

14 Month Highlights:
-We found a gluten free bakery in Alpharetta that was delicious and had a cute little patio to sit on. We had a fun saturday morning eating there, then walking to the big farmers market nearby. Despite being gone during morning nap time, you are a champ. As long as you are on the move, and have lots of food, you are good to go!
*You love when the girls play peek a boo with you!

-We had a couple of pool days this month and you just love to relax!

-You've recently taken up baby yoga. You've obviously mastered downward dog : )

-Rolling, throwing, and chasing after balls is probably your most favorite activity. Anytime you are fussy (and not hungry or tired), we give you a ball, sit on the floor with you and you are all smiles and giggles!

-For some reason, about half of the time you wake up from your afternoon nap cranky. Not sure why, you just don't love life in the moments between post-nap and dinner time.

-You LOVE LOVE LOVE music, singing, and any toy that plays a song. Isabella loves doing duets with you.

-The girls love to make you laugh at dinner time, and now you've starting trying to crack your own jokes, which makes us all laugh...including yourself!

-You love yourself a good musical toy, you don't discriminate between maracas, the piano, or any surface that can be made into drums : )

-You love the ball pit!!!

-We had a fun family day and went to a slip in slide extravaganza which was fun for sisters, but insanely hot for the rest of us! You were a trooper though and just ate most of the time : )

We poured water over your head...this was't all sweat!

-The cousin crew on a Mimi day

-Bottle break with cousin : )

-Mimi's 5...lunch time fun!!!

Sleeping: Bedtime is 7, and you sleep until sometime in the 6 o'clock hour. We give you a bottle at 7 or when you start crying, and you go back in bed to play, cat nap (rarely) or just chill until 8.

You nap at 10 am and this one can be as short as 30 minutes, up to 2 hours. Afternoon nap is around 2pm and again, can be boycotted altogether (but you still get "quiet time" in your crib!) up to an hour and a half or 2. Most days, the collective amount of naptime is about 2.5 to 3 hours. For some reason, there have been many days this month that you just refuse to nap in the afternoon. Not sure what that is about.

Eating:  You really are a great eater. Not terribly picky (although you're following in Aub's footsteps and won't touch most veggies!), and man can you throw down in volume! Favorite foods: cheerios, guacamole, veggie straws, PB and J sandwiches, avacado toast, runny eggies, blueberries, strawberries, smoothie, and yogurt.

We ended breastfeeding completely this month and it was definitely bittersweet for Mama. She definitely enjoyed those sweet cuddles in the morning time. BUT she was very excited to have her body back as hers! You transitioned from breast to early morning bottle without a hitch so that also helped. We gave you bottles first thing in the morning, once in the afternoon, and then right before bed up until the last two weeks, because we're trying to use up Mama's frozen breastmilk stash, but have since cut out all bottles but the morning one. Once the freezer milk is gone, the bottle will be also!  On that note, you will happily drink whole milk out of the bottle, but will only take a sip or so out of sippy cups. So it looks like you won't be a big milk drinker.

Isaiah Loves:
-Baths with toys

-Rolling and throwing a ball
-Anything musical
-Dancing
-Work bench toy
-Noahs ark shape sorter toy
-Putting things in and out of buckets
-Electronics, remotes, cell phones

Isaiah Hates
:
-Not getting the food on his tray that he specifically wants...and goodness, we have a hard time figuring out what he wants sometimes!

14 Month Stats:

Height: 29.5 in (approx 10th percentile)

Weight: 17 lbs (finally!) - well below growth curve still

*Wearing size 6 month summer rompers and some jammies, and 6-9 or 9 mo sleepers.

*Size 3 diapers

*No new teeth this month, still 6 total, 4 on top, 2 on bottom

Isaiah's Firsts this Month:
-Pulling to stand, right at 14 months
