Aubrey 18 Months!

And just like that, I not only have a 3 year old but a 1.5 year old as well this month! What in the world!?!?  

I can't believe my baby is already halfway to 2.  And she thinks she's halfway to 20 sometimes, so there's that.

I mean seriously, this girl loves cheesin' for the camera! What a little ham!

18 Month Highlights:

-You have a lways been a talker, and this month you just continue to babble away and look at us like we are crazy for not understanding you. That being said, you are also starting to say a lot more words that we can understand consistently which is nice. You say: Mama, Baba (Bella), No, Si/Yes, Me, "Cheeee" (for cheese or smile), "da" (dog), "ba" (ball), "ca" for coffee, "mo" for more, and you call birds "cheep cheep".  

 

Here's you saying "Cheeeee"

-You also love making animal sounds, mostly birds, lions/bears (which are both a nice hearty "ahhhhh"), dogs, and owls. 

-You LOVE to wrestle with Mama, Daddy, Dani, but mostly Isabella! You tackle her like you are a big football player! You both just giggle and giggle every time which melts my heart!

-You are always climbing on things or in things or over things. You are getting so good at going up and down stairs which is a good thing b/c we've caught you halfway up the staircase more times than I can count this month!  You also love to play under your high chair and under the kitchen table chairs. Like a little baby obstacle course for you.

-We went to parks quite a bit this month b/c it's a good way to get you tired. There is nothing you won't try to do all by yourself, and nothing you are really afraid of which makes Mama nervous sometimes (and Daddy nervous all the time when he gets to come!).

-Two things you love: playing in laundry baskets, and cuddling Bella's baby!  Cracks me up every time!

-I don't know why I even take the time to blow up the small pool and fill it because you LOVE just sitting in the bucket and jumping around in that anyways : )

-You love your big sister, and she loves you! You like to hold hands when we go on our walks in the neighborhood, which really started because one week you wiped out and scraped up your shin and one hand, and Bella hated to see you hurting. So now she wants to hold your hand on all walks to help protect you.

-My big girl, ya know, just rocking by herself!

-You got to have a Daddy date night in while Mama took Bella out, and you guys had a blast, watching a cartoon movie, wrestling, and taking goofy pictures : )  

-We went to one of the malls to play at the indoor play land and you LOVED it, probably b/c it was geared towards smaller kids. We love having so many options for fun near us, including the indoor options when it's storming outside!

-Sweet baby girl couldn't even last a 2 mile run to the park. One tired little lady!

-Another day, another run with my little lady! This time on the greenway, and then we got to meet up with Daddy and Bella for some lunch at a sandwich place.  And yes, once again she fell asleep in the stroller. 

-Who has time to look and smile for the camera when there is so much park fun to be had!?!?

Sleeping: Bedtime is around 7:30 for you which means we all go upstairs for bedtime routine around 7. You usually sleep for about 12 hours, and are getting better about letting us get you out of bed a little after you've woken up (AKA: not as cranky b/c you tend to wake up crying or fussing). After a few minutes you reorient yourself and are happy, just talking and singing to yourself for about 20 minutes.

You take one nap, usually around 1pm and sleep for 2 hours.That being said, I think there are plenty of days you'd rather have 2 naps for about 45 min each, but that just isn't conducive for our lifestyle. You will fall asleep in your carseat about twice a week or in the stroller if I take you on a run around 10:30 or 11am.  Sweet little baby!

Eating: You are one picky eater but you like what you like which usually consists of: cheese, runny eggs, ham, greek yogurt, strawberries, pears, squeezies, noodles with butter and Parmesan cheese, and milk! Yup, that's about it!

Aubrey Loves:
-Picking out your own outfit and/or shoes. As soon as I open your closet you point and pull at whatever outfit or dress you want.

-Baths
-Running in circles in Mama and Daddy's room
-Running around in general and climbing on everything
-Reading books
-Singing and listening to music
-Favorite songs: Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus, Patty Cake
-Library story time
-Cartoons 
-Being chased and tickled
-Playing dress up

  Aubrey Hates:

-Being told no
-Being in her carseat
-Being contained for more than 22 seconds! This girl is active and always wants to be on the go!

18 Month Stats:

Height: 32 in (60th percentile)

Weight: 22.5 lb (approx 25th percentile)

Teeth: We now have 4 molars, 4 canines, and all front top and bottom teeth (16 teeth total)! Just waiting on (and in no rush for!) second year molars.

Wearing mostly 18 month things with 12 month dresses as well. Wearing a size 3 or 4 shoe. Still in size 3 diapers.
