Oh how we love this little guy! I mean, seriously, he is so much fun, and just so stinking adorable. LOVE this age!!
Happy 14 Months Isaiah Jae!
14 Month Highlights:
-We found a gluten free bakery in Alpharetta that was delicious and had a cute little patio to sit on. We had a fun saturday morning eating there, then walking to the big farmers market nearby. Despite being gone during morning nap time, you are a champ. As long as you are on the move, and have lots of food, you are good to go!
*You love when the girls play peek a boo with you!
-We had a couple of pool days this month and you just love to relax!
-You've recently taken up baby yoga. You've obviously mastered downward dog : )
-Rolling, throwing, and chasing after balls is probably your most favorite activity. Anytime you are fussy (and not hungry or tired), we give you a ball, sit on the floor with you and you are all smiles and giggles!
-For some reason, about half of the time you wake up from your afternoon nap cranky. Not sure why, you just don't love life in the moments between post-nap and dinner time.
-You LOVE LOVE LOVE music, singing, and any toy that plays a song. Isabella loves doing duets with you.
-The girls love to make you laugh at dinner time, and now you've starting trying to crack your own jokes, which makes us all laugh...including yourself!
-You love yourself a good musical toy, you don't discriminate between maracas, the piano, or any surface that can be made into drums : )
-You love the ball pit!!!
-You love the ball pit!!!
-We had a fun family day and went to a slip in slide extravaganza which was fun for sisters, but insanely hot for the rest of us! You were a trooper though and just ate most of the time : )
We poured water over your head...this was't all sweat! -The cousin crew on a Mimi day |
-Bottle break with cousin : )
-Mimi's 5...lunch time fun!!!
Sleeping: Bedtime is 7, and you sleep until sometime in the 6 o'clock hour. We give you a bottle at 7 or when you start crying, and you go back in bed to play, cat nap (rarely) or just chill until 8.
You nap at 10 am and this one can be as short as 30 minutes, up to 2 hours. Afternoon nap is around 2pm and again, can be boycotted altogether (but you still get "quiet time" in your crib!) up to an hour and a half or 2. Most days, the collective amount of naptime is about 2.5 to 3 hours. For some reason, there have been many days this month that you just refuse to nap in the afternoon. Not sure what that is about.
Eating: You really are a great eater. Not terribly picky (although you're following in Aub's footsteps and won't touch most veggies!), and man can you throw down in volume! Favorite foods: cheerios, guacamole, veggie straws, PB and J sandwiches, avacado toast, runny eggies, blueberries, strawberries, smoothie, and yogurt.
We ended breastfeeding completely this month and it was definitely bittersweet for Mama. She definitely enjoyed those sweet cuddles in the morning time. BUT she was very excited to have her body back as hers! You transitioned from breast to early morning bottle without a hitch so that also helped. We gave you bottles first thing in the morning, once in the afternoon, and then right before bed up until the last two weeks, because we're trying to use up Mama's frozen breastmilk stash, but have since cut out all bottles but the morning one. Once the freezer milk is gone, the bottle will be also! On that note, you will happily drink whole milk out of the bottle, but will only take a sip or so out of sippy cups. So it looks like you won't be a big milk drinker.
